At the E Week India 2010 award ceremony, the NEN Community had an extra special reason to rejoice. With Van Halen’s celebratory track ‘Jump’ playing in the background, on stage, young NEN Alumni members literally ‘jumped’ their way into a brand new initiative—the NEN E Club!
Launched by former E Cell members, the E Club has been kick started across four cities so far – Bangalore, Mumbai, Chennai and Pune. The basic purpose of the alumni club is simple: enable E Cell members to stay connected with the NEN Community and continue to receive support, even after they graduate from college.
“I realized that the network that I had while I was part of the E Cell was missing after I graduated from college. And I desperately wanted to retain that,” says Abhishek R, Member, Leadership Council, E Club - Bangalore, explaining why he chose to be part of the NEN E Club.
Apart from supporting a network of entrepreneurs, the E Club intends to be a think tank where ideas can be shared and debated. Members can learn from each other’s experiences and use each other’s advantages to grow the community. The club will also conduct workshops and courses, mentor E Cells at alma maters and serve as a platform for knowledge sharing and business networking.
“We felt that there was a very substantial and pressing need for entrepreneurs today, in India, to be connected together. And we thought this was a unique opportunity by which it can be achieved,” explains Shamiroh Tikoo Member, Leadership Council, E Club - Bangalore and IIT-Bombay graduate.
