Lots and lots of woof-woofs; a few meows; a stray quack-quack and a silent turtle – what a strange animal song was played out at the St Joseph College of Arts and Science grounds, where students organized a pet show as part of their E Week celebrations.

E Cell faculty member Subhashini Muthukrishnan shouted for silence, even threatened all with stern looks, but neither the owners nor the dogs were in a mood to listen.
As the human guests went about their speeches, a Great Dane exchanged dirty looks with a Dalmatian; three Labradors broke into a street fight; a cute pom tried wooing strangers; a tiny turtle tickled several palms and fishes quietly swam in their fish bowl oblivious to the chaos around.

Jason Jacob, E Cell President said they wanted to do something fun, and what better way than to get the pets together. Subhashini saw great opportunity in the event. "A pet show is a great way to showcase the entrepreneurial scope that exists in animal care today. Pet spas, home-stays for animals, food for dogs, animal accessories, animal care…the opportunities are plenty. I hope pet lovers get some new ideas from this event," she said.
