Setting the ramp on fire
Shubha | Bangalore | Feb 11, 2008 05:00 pm
Do I really have to write something nice about the Mount Carmel College's fashion show, when it left me feeling frumpy, old and fat?

Purely out of my commitment to my E Week Yatra, I shall rise above my personal grudges, and let you readers know that the fashion show, held just before the E Week closing ceremony, was a smashing hit.

In fact, the show was so good that when I stopped by an ex-colleague from my previous newspaper to say hi, he swore at me and told me to get out of the way, as a sexy lady in red had just made an appearance on the ramp.

I can't blame him. The clothes and the models were absolute show-stoppers. Anything red, black or shiny on stage and the audience broke into the ooo's and aaa's that are mandatory in any fashion show. When the models muah-muahed and threw air kisses, the crowds went crazy. And when a hot model showed off her bag that was a size larger than her dress, I don't know about the others but I almost swooned!

The element of drama ruled over the creations of 24 MCC students of MCC, who brought their imagination into reality in silk and satin. And while it was the models up on the ramp, it's clear that the future designer-entrepreneurs were the ones strutting their stuff. Chinmayee M walked away with the Best Designer Award.
