The Fun Begins, St Xavier's College
Shubha | Kolkata | Feb 01, 2008 3:30 pm
It was the lazy afternoon hour when most students retire for a quick nap, a tea break or a gossip session, but at St Xavier's College, over 200 students sat in rapt attention, waiting for NEN's Executive Director Laura Parkin to kickstart the E-Week celebrations at their campus.

"It was a time to break free from fear," said Laura, winning instant woo-hoo from her young audience. "Freedom from fear gives one the freedom to act. THAT, to me, is entrepreneurship. This spirit will be celebrated this coming week," said Laura, before making the students take the E-Week pledge.

Students are in for an active week ahead, what with the St Xavier's E-Cell planning industry visits, creativity workshops, panel discussions and online games planned for the coming days. The campus has been brightened with lively E-Week posters and event banners. St Xavier's faculty member involved with NEN, Prof. Deepak Khaitan, led the awareness campaign by spreading the word in every class.

"I thought it would be one of those dreary lecture sessions, but now it sounds like so much fun. I am thrilled, I can't wait for the week to start," said B.Com student Saket Pachisia. "The E-Week has inspired a dream in us. It has made me think about thinking," added his friend Rhui Agarwal.
