| Students learn the art of jewelry design |
Of what I have heard till now, students are opening juice and cookie stores; selling roses on the road; and in one case, even doing business in a rag shop!
However, at Stella Maris College, they are doing things differently. A bunch of girls have huddled together over a table, taking a rapid course in jewelry design. In another building, another group is learning to make pain balms and herbal face creams. Using their seed money, they will put their newly-acquired skills to use and sell jewelry and creams to the public.
"We decided to learn a new skill and then use it to earn money. By taking ownership of the entire process - from creation to selling - we will live the spirit of entrepreneurship," said Emilia Massar, an E Cell member.
