From February 7 to 14, over 370 NEN Member Institutes will come together across the country to celebrate entrepreneurship. E Week Award winners are those institutes that best embody the spirit of E Week and provide the extraordinary leadership required to make E Week a success.
This year we have added a new series of Special Awards to recognize innovation, impact, and effective public awareness campaigns.
E Week 2009 Award winners will be selected in 4 categories:
- The E Week Champions
- E Week Runners Up
- E Week Honor Roll
- Special Awards
Special Award winners will be selected in three categories:
- Most Innovative Event
- High Impact Event
- Most Effective Public Awareness Campaign
These awards are given to an institution. Student E-Cells of NEN member institutes compete with each other in the Championship and other competitions mentioned above. In order to compete for the awards, an institution MUST:
- be an active NEN Member
- have registered for Championship Awards on the E Week Website
- have submitted the required documents for evaluation (See NOTE in the section below)
The three main criteria determining the E Week Champions, Runners Up, and Honor Roll awards include:
- Awareness and Buzz created around entrepreneurship and E week
- Quality of Programs - innovative, creative and learning oriented
- Relevance to the theme for 2009 - Go Green!
In addition, Participation for at least 5 of the 8 days of the E-week will be the distinct criterion for all the E Week Champions Awards.
Indicators of each of the criteria are provided below:
1. Awareness and Buzz:

Ideally, Champions run innovative events that are a mix of fun and serious learning. Indicators to determine quality include:

- Clear learning objectives

- Sustainability - able to run on an ongoing basis beyond E Week

3. Relevance to the theme - Go Green!
We expect that Champions will make special efforts to promote maximum awareness and knowledge of clean technology and environmentally sustainable businesses.
Institutes participating in the E-Week Championship and other competitions will be expected to submit documentation to support the above. NEN has provided documentation templates to help present the information in a structured manner for the purpose of judging. Additionally, we are looking for photographs and copies of marketing collaterals to support, validate and enhance the documentation that competing institutes provide. You can view sample materials here to help guide you through the process.
