Do you know which country has the largest investment reserved for research and development in the field of renewable energy? Or what is different about Blackie?
Well, I didn't - and the E Quiz, on at the campus, was an eye-opener for me. I was very surprised to know that India was the largest investor in R&D for renewable energy and for Blackie - I could never have guessed that it is 'Black Google' that saves 750 Megawatts of energy per annum.

Such small discoveries have added to the fun factor of E Week in this brightened-up campus. Life's been happily hectic for these engineering students in the last few days, as they explore different ways to reach out to Durgapur citizens to join in the celebrations. They have promoted 'kidpreneurship' by teaching school students of Guru Tegh Bahadur School to make fun items like bags and wristbands out of waste products. They have organized a flag painting competition on the theme of Go Green in the local Saint Teresa Catholic Church. They have visited neighbouring institutes and conducted workshops on entrepreneurship. They have wooed Career Launcher and leading radio channel Big FM to become their E Week Partner, and are now taking their help to increase awareness about E Week.
"We are energized by the possibilities of entrepreneurship, and we want to share this spirit to people in as many different ways as possible," says Shankar, E Cell Co-ordinator.
Way to go, our NEN entrepreneurship evangelists!
