| It is February, the 14th, and the narrow hangout lanes near Jyoti Nivas College were jam-packed by five in the evening. Bright-eyed, smartly-dressed boys and girls crowded the streets and shops, and festivity reigned supreme. Natural thing to happen on Valentine's Day, you might think?

The truth is far from it. In fact, many of them cancelled candlelight dinners and left sulking girlfriends/ boyfriends at home - all to be part of the grand closing of E Week.
Over a thousand people packed the Jyoti Nivas College Auditorium to mark the end of an exciting, feverish week that celebrated the spirit of entrepreneurship like never before. 3,50,000 students from over 400 institutes across the country participated in E Week, organizing over 2500 events and activities related to the theme 'Go Green - The World is Our Business'.
Some of India's best known entrepreneurs, including Kiran Mazumdar Shaw, Chairman and Managing Director, Biocon Limited; Chetan Maini, CTO and Deputy Chairman, Reva Electric Car Company; and Mohanjeet Jolly, Executive Director, Draper Fisher Juverston (India) attended the event and inspired students with their entrepreneurial stories.
It was also an occasion to remember Nilima Rovshen, NEN Co-founder, who passed away in August 2008.

The evening's events were interspersed with high-energy performances by the dance troupe '5,6,7,8' that wooed the young audience with foot-tapping Bollywood numbers.
However, the chief highlight of the evening was the announcement of E Week Champions. The crowd turned almost riotous, with joyous shrieks and whistles and loud cheers reverberating in the air, as the names of the winners and runners-up were read out.
Seven colleges - Bengal College of Engineering & Technology, Durgapur; Heritage Institute of Technology, Kolkata; Institute of Engineering & Management, Kolkata; IPS Academy, Indore; ISBR, Bangalore; Muffakham Jah College of Engineering & Technology, Hyderabad and Sree Bhagwan Mahavir Jain College, Bangalore - were declared champions.
Another seven - B.C. Roy Engineering College, Durgapur; Dr. D.Y. Patil Institute, Mumbai; Eastern Institute for Integrated Learning in Management, Kolkata; Jaipuria Institute of Management, Delhi; Jyoti Nivas College, Bangalore; Mount Carmel College, Bangalore; PSG College of Technology, Coimbatore; Swami Keshvanand Institute of Technology, Management & Gramothan, Jaipur and V.L.B.Janakiammal College Of Arts & Science, Coimbatore - were declared runners-up.
A jam session, lots of photo shoots, and even more whooping and jumping marked the last few minutes of E Week 09.
