E Week celebrations have spread all around the country, and we at NEN are simply overwhelmed by the sheer scale and number of activities being organized by students on and off campuses. Consider this: over 1000 events have already taken place in a span of 3 days, and even more are in the offing. Our website, www.eweekindia.org, which has also been witness to this excitement, is flooded with stories and pictures from hundreds of events, and the number of people who have signed the pledge online, at the time of writing this e-mail, is a record-breaking 75,000! If you haven't yet taken the Pledge, take it now .

Rallies, Marathons and Exhibitions Drive the Message

Students from cities big and small – from Mumbai and Delhi to Jaipur and Durgapur – have all organized rallies, marathons, and exhibitions to spread the message of eco-sensitive entrepreneurship. Thousands took to the streets to educate people about sustainable living and the benefits of using eco-friendly products and services. Indore, a hotspot of the campaign, made effective use of its 95 public buses: Large flexes conveying the ills of energy wastage were placed on their rear windows, while batches of students hopped onto the buses and educated passengers about ecopreneurship and made them sign the E Week pledge.

Green Entrepreneurship: The Big Buzz on College Campuses

Shubha Narayanan, our in-house blogger who is currently touring the country covering E Week, finds that interest in Green Entrepreneurship on India’s college campuses is at an all time high. Students are busy discussing, debating, and exploring the benefits and challenges of establishing green ventures. Some, like Rucha Sharma of Pune , have already made a start. Meanwhile, Students of Bishop Cotton Women Christian College in Bangalore launched a Green E-Store on their campus, selling eco-friendly products like herbal cosmetics, squash and jams, and articles made from recycled paper.
