| The Birla Institute of Technology and Science (BITS) Pilani was founded by G D Birla, a renowned entrepreneur, who made significant contributions to the building of modern India. It is an internationally renowned all India Institute for higher learning providing highest quality engineering sciences and humanities education to students. |

| In association with the Department of Science and Technology (DST), Government of India, BITS has established a Technology Business Incubator (TBI) in the area of Embedded Systems and VLSI Design.
BITS also has a unique tradition of innovation and R&D activities and its various centers of excellence are testament to it. It is estimated that around 10% of its alumni become entrepreneurs.
As a founding member of NEN and in order to give strength to this natural tendency amongst BITSians, BITS has established the Centre for Entrepreneurial Leadership.
TBI jointly with CEL shall promote entrepreneurial leadership across all disciplines, facilitate entrepreneurial activity amongst students, and invite entrepreneurs to use TBI services so as to develop end products for commercialization. |

All companies by default have an incubation period of 12-months, extendable to 18-months at subsidized running costs |
 |
For the 18 to 24 month period, incubatee is obliged to pay standard rates and must exit at the end of the 24-month period. |

TBI@BITS might charge an equity stake from an incubatee for the services rendered. The percentage would be decided on a case-to-case basis and would range within 1% and 8%. |
